Wheres my o2 sensor and PCV valve
Hello everyone...my 1985 244GL has failed emissions and sometimes loses its power/acceleration.
I bought a new PCV valve (with the flame trap) and a o2 sensor online and I can't find for the the life of me where they go.
I own the Bently service manual its useless on this problem.
The PCV valve I'm clueless and I assumed the o2 sensor was after the catalytic convertor but I don't see any wire there at all.
Please Help - I appreciate it soooo much - Justin

RE: Wheres my o2 sensor and PCV valve
Your o2 sensor is mounted in the exhaust manifold pointing towards the firewall. You get to it from the engine compartment. Flame trap is between cyl4 and cyl 3 on the intake manifold if you are lucky. The earliler years had it under the intake manifold. I do not know what yours is. You just pull the rubber hose off and you will see the holder and the flame trap is inside. Be careful getting it out they break (the holder)

Thank you guys for your help. I found the o2 sensor right away but the PCV valve still eludes me.
I'm looking at the intake manifold and can't see anything on our underneight it at all.
I know this is hard but is there someway you can describe to me super clear.
THANK YOU SO MUCH - I couldn't find anyone that could help me so you guys are my only chance.

It will be pretty hard to find on your car.
But look under the intake for a black box.It is towards the back of the engine. On the top of it should be a decent size hose that comes off of it and goes up.It should connect to the hose that goes from the air filter to the engine. Also you can try to follow one of the little hoses that goes from the intake to down under the intake. The small hose comes off of the small nipple on the back side of the intake by the head. You can also find it because it is removable with a 11mm wrench. But follow that hose down and it will lead to the Flame trap.
