Where's the Signal Relay?
Hi, new here. My datter drives an 86DL wagon and the turn signals quit. I thought at first maybe relay, but I tried the warning flashers and they work (so do the lights, so no problem there). Then I tried the switch stalk, sometimes these will rarely go out. A replacement switch stalk from the boneyard performed exactly the same way, flashing the high beams but no winkies. I therefore suspect that the signal relay is dead and that the warning flasher relay is separate.
If this is true, where do I look for the relay and what is the typical relay number on the unit box? I've replaced the overdrive relay and know that behind the dash in weird places there are relays upon relays. My manual talks about only one "flasher relay" hence all the curiosity. Fuse is fine.
Any help is helpful haha. Thanks

The hazard switch uses the same flasher relay as the stalk switch. So if the hazard lights work the flasher relay is OK.
Suspect bad hazard switch. The hazard lights might work but a bad switch can still cause the turn signals to be inop. Test it by bypassing the hazard switch. Run a jumper from fuse 13 to pin 49 of the flasher relay and see if the stalk switch activates the turn signals.
