Windshield washer pump question
 

On my 91 244, the windshield washer hasn't been working since I pulled her out of storage a few weeks ago.

If I pull the wiper lever, the wipers do the 3 swipes as they always have. However, I do not hear the pump running. Unplugged the 2 pin connector and it doesn't look corroded at all. Nonethless, I cleaned it up and unplugged/plugged a few times. No dice.

Do you guys think its time for a new pump? That pump on there is the original VDO....
All I can find on fleabay are replacement/knock offs.

PS: The hoses look fine, the "T" is intact and I do not see any spills/leaks. I was reading older threads where a couple of members were able to clean residue off the motors and make them work again. But I would assume the residual matter and crud would still let the pump work i.e. whine - just that it won't be able to push the deicer through the reservoir?

hook a volt meter up to the wires that go to the pump, and try to activate the squirters(or have a friend do that) and see if there's juice to the pump.

Thanks Pierce! Don't want to spend that kinda money on the washer pump as I need to replace the tail light seals, the door pockets and the cruise control actuator. Plus she's got the saggy butt syndrome, so it will be shocks time later this year.

That being said, here are some pictures I took of the pump disassembled. Very simple - took me about 5 minutes.
The rotor at the bottom of the pump (circled in red) had about 28 years of crud on it. Cleaned it all up and put it back together. Voila! It works.

fyi, shocks don't help saggy butt, they just help reduce pogo-stick bouncing on bumps. saggy bottom on a 240 is usually worn main swingarm bushings, also can be tired springs.
