Default Wiper Motor: Used OEM vs. Aftermarket

Looks like I need to replace the wiper motor. Any general thoughts on which would prove more reliable, a good condition original part as compared to a new aftermarket?

Thanks!

FWIW, a new REAL Volvo wiper motor for a 91-95 940 (taken as a a typical example since you didn't say what you got) is like $200 from Tasca....

oh wait, its a discontinued part

Anyways, there's no way we can compare reliability of an arbitrary used part vs an unknown vendor aftermarket new part. the two aftermarket volvo specialist vendors *I* checked don't have any front wiper motors for 740/940s... but again, I just picked that as an example car, you may have something different.

I actually meant a used Volvo part, such as for sale on Ebay, which has been tested, as against aftermarket that is perhaps twice the cost. I have a 91 240 wagon. I know there are many variables, which is why I sought out opinions about general reliability.

right, but there's no way of knowing the history of that used ebay part, and the aftermarket stuff ranges from good to lousy.
