19 year old ran into the back of me while I was stopped behind a lady turning left.
I loved my volvo. I think I have had it 15 years. Now looking for another manual shift 240.......

I think he was going 65 to 70. He saw me just before he hit and skidded twenty something feet before he hit. I think he actually hit me at 50. I had just driven my wife's miata up to her and taken my volvo for the return trip. If he had hit me in the miata both myself and the dog would be deceased. The funny thing is it was a straightaway with two small hills. I saw him when he came over the first hill and said "slow down" to myself, then the second hill "slow down" after that it was "is he going to slow down??" Screeeeeeeeechhhhhhhhhhhhhh .........BBBBOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM.
Why didn't he see me? I suspect he was texting. (On a straightaway you don't have to look up much to stay on the road.) I do not recommend the experience, nor did it improve my appearance but thank god for the volvo. His insurance has offered me considerably less than it is worth.

Hey, glad to hear you and the pooch survived the crash without too much injury. I see the NC plate in the pictures - where you at (I'm in Hickory)?
Injecting some humor into the sad situation, I would guess that the lady turning in front of you probably had her turn signal on. Being a northern transplant, I have well noted that using turn signals in this neck of the woods is a rare occurence. The odd sight of a flashing turn signal might have frozen the reaction of the F150 driver.
