1993 960 open door beeping noise
hey guys just got an old 1993 960 in great shape just a few minor things are wrong one is that the beeping noise when you have the door open constantly beeps until you close the door no matter if the lights and everything are off. does anybody know how to disconnect this? sounds like it is coming from right by the shifter, thanks.
First thing I would do is clean the door switches. Moisture can get between the door frames and cause corrosion. Disconnect the negative battery cable or pull the proper fuse before you do.
If that does not work, the sound is built in to the the timer mechanism, which is located in the relay tray in the center console of the dash. Remove the knee bolster on the passenger side for access. To remove there is a torx screw located under the trim piece below the glove box, the rest of the panel just has snap pins, about three or four.
Which relay is it is, I don't know but you should be able to figure it out once you have the panel off.
