Default 1997 960 to buy or not?

Hello all,

I found a 97 960, body is excellent. 121K miles, and decent seats. Found two problems that concern me whether to buy it, or not!

First, not major but would like to know why, while unlocking driver's door, other doors do not function? Even while inside car driving, or not, I can't get other door lock to function from driver's door. I did not check passenger side.

Other problem; I noticed a oil leak at pass. side of valve cover. I am not sure where the flame trap is on the 960, if there is one. And if so, does it cause same oil pressure problems as my 740 would? oil dispstick, etc... you all know that on 740.

I really like this 960, the oil leak I believe I can fix, as long as I can find out whether its just gasket or seal replacement(s).

He doesn't know if timing belt has been changed, but I would do that also. The serpentine belt is obviously new.

The car is so strong, he's asking MSRP for it, but I believe I can knock off a few hundred but for these notations, and fix it myself.

What do you all think? Should I purchase, or not?

The oil leak might be the front Cam seal.

On that car the door lock switch is on the dash. Only the Drivers door works from it?

When unlocking the car you will have to turn the key to unlock twice for the rest of the doors.

Doesn't sound that bad but what exact price are you thinking?

Update:
Went to drive again, also found leak in sunroof, and was able to open doors at driver door(double turn), noticed a discoloration on rear bumper, and could not get radio to power on.

If you all think this is a good buy, I will probably buy it by the weekend. There are about 5 other 960's in the area for sale, but none have this color (gray-silver-gold) which I think is great. I not the custom paint type of guy. So I'm don't try to get custom paint jobs. But I do keep cars for at least 5-10 years. So, this one would be in it for the long haul.

There is a tag, in cursive, on the back stating, "Gold Edition". What is so unique about this "Gold Edition"?

The leak from the sunroof is most likely the sunroof glass.

It doesn't sound that bad.

Not sure about the gold edition never heard of it.
