Default 1997 960 radiator

I have managed to puncture my radiator. I did this by replacing a screw that holds the cowling just below the radiator. It was about 1/8 of an inch longer than the original screw. It had a sharp point. I did not realize the tolerance was so close. I realized it as anti-freeze spilled out drip by drip.

So I know exactly where the leak is.

I looked at the way the radiator is situated. It actually looks fairly straight forward to take it out except the the transmission coolant lines go in and out. I would appreciate any insights here about how to go about this, what to be looking for and how to deal with transmission coolant that could be lost in the process.

Thanks. Ron

The transmission lines just unscrew.
You will loose little fluid doing the Radiator.
After done test drive good then check the fluid level. You might still be good on the fluid level.

I just had mine replaced to the tune of $300 out the door. It was the first time I had to take my car to someone else in 10 years. I just didn't have the time to do it.(Senior Accountant by day Volvo mechanic by night). Whoever decided to make the radiator out of plastic should be shot.[sm=shootshoot.gif] I bought the car last November and have since replaced the rotor and pads all the way around, changed out the oil drain plug, and most recently changed the O2 sensor (thanks Tech).
