1JZ-GTE Supra Turbo engine in 960 any info?
I found a 960 in good shape that needs a new engine and thought about the less expesive Japanese supra engine 2.5 Turbo 280HP. From what I've read basically the trans is the same so physically getting it in (as long as it fits) and electrical I'm not too awefull concerned with. But never fooled with volvos before. Anybody know of any issues of doing swaps like these, such as ABS is that controlled by a separate module or was that in the PCM. If I do this I'd just be splitting both harnesses and marrying the body wiring of the volvo harness into the engine part of the toyota harness. Again I'm only considering it right now as I think it would be cool to have a solid body of the volvo with a better engine.

A guy I know had a 745 with a supra motor. He bought it of some guy who built it in L.A., CA. He was about to drop in the Haltech unit, but then he decided to part it out. Dont split the harness, just run the toyota one with a Haltech unit.
There is some people who can tell you how on turbobricks.com, this is more of a maintenance site.
Post pics if you get around to doing this!

Standalone engine managements are fine for racing cars and such but never get quite the streetability of a factory ecu. Splitting the harnesses and putting them together is not a major concern I've done this stuff before but usually not with car and engine from diff manufacturers and usually not with extra options such as ABS. So major concerns are ABS and gauges. Turbo bricks I'll check that out. If things go right and dude lets me have the car cheap I might be able to have this done for under 3K.
