So my 87' 760 has been having overheating issues lately. Undoubtedly the thermostat. I've got that part on the way but today i was driving and the RPM's were going up and down quite sporadically! And then it died. So I waited 5 minutes to try and start it and it started back up but kept up the jumpy RPM's. I was near my destination so i hobbled the car there by putting it in neutral and coasting while revving it for most of the way. I parked It and went about my business. A few hours later I got back in the car and attempted to make it the mile back to my house. It was not fun and the car probably doesn't like me much for it. It died the same as before but would not start back up. The electrical in the car is strange but everything still works, It's turning over, just not getting past there! Any help?
