90K mi Maintenance
Hey everyone,
My 1996 960 sedan recently broke 90k miles so in the next week or so I'd like to perform the recomended maintenance to the car. From what I've read the main things to be done (besides oil change, inspecting brakes, fluids, etc) is replacing the air filter and spark plugs. My question is regarding the spark plugs. I've never changed them before and am wondering if it is difficult and if there is anything special I should know before changing them. Also, should the spark plug wires be changed as well and are there any particular brands/types of spark plugs you would recomend. Thanks for your help.

The plugs aren't that bad. You have to remove the top engine cover.
Then the coil packs to get to the plugs.
BTW if you didn't get it above your car has coil packs 1 per cylinder.
No cap,rotor,or wires.

Yeah. Itran fine beforeI changed them, but it does seem to run even better now. The plugs I pulled out had barely any center electode left and they said Volvo on them. So I have no idea how long they've been in there for.
