95 960 Carrier Bearing question
I haven't seen any specific instructions so here is my question.
I have the driveshaft off, and the u-joint after the carrier bearing out. So since it does not have a flange there, just the U where the u-joint goes, I wonder how I get this out of my way to pull the bearing off. A little insight is ( if you can picture it, or if you have seen one ), from the U-joint towards the front of the car, there is the U, a little rubber boot, but no nut under it (thought there would be), then the bearing and support. If someone can please let me know how this comes apart, I would appreciate it very much, as I need to get this car back on the road.

The usual procedure for removing the carrier bearing is to remove the rear section of the drive shaft. Slacken the bolts in the gearbox flange and remove two of them. Then remove the two screws holding the carrier bearing to the chassis, the two remaining bolts from the gearbox flange and remove the bearing withthe front section of the drive shaft. You should then be able to remove the carrier bearing from the drive shaft.
Yes I have removed the front section. I have done a carrier bearing before, but on an isuzu. It had a flange that pulled off giving me access to pull bearing off. This has the U-joint instead of the flange, so I am wondering what the procedure is to get the U out of my way to get to the bearing.

Everything I am seeing says the the front and rear yolk should seperate before the bearing.
I vaigly remember sonething about an allen set screw though.
I think it is hard to see.

Indeed there is an allen screw there, and thought that was a possibility, but figured it was worth asking before I did something I shouldn't. Thanks alot, I will update you when I get it.
