1999 S70 T5 Axle Carrier Bearing Replacement
Is the bearing serviceable/replaceable on this car, or am I stuck having to source an entire new part? These seem to be difficult to find for the FWD, 5-speed T5 model; or maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks.
Thanks.
first let's make sure we're talking about the right thing. Do you mean the wheel bearing that's at the end of the axle shafts, that the wheels bolt to, or do you mean the "carrier" bearing that bolts the right side intermediate drive shaft to the frame, or do you actually mean the carrier bearing inside the differential?
If it's the wheel bearing, then you have to replace the entire hub, as the bearing is integrated into the hub. I just did this a couple months ago. Not overly hard, except for frozen bolts that needed to be heated up before they'd come loose.
If you either of the other two, then sorry, I can't help there. Never done one on a volvo before.
