960 Cruise Control not working
I just bought a 960 yesterday that has an inoperative cruise control. The vacuum servo is torn. Not saying that's the only reason the system isn't working, but it's where I'm starting. Check yours if you haven't, it's a common problem. Here in the desert they go for sure, just a matter of when. Two local parts cars have one missing and one torn, and I didn't see any on eBay. Looks like new is available via other Internet sources for $75 or so.
I also found this PDF that describes the system nicely and covers troubleshooting/repair: http://caunter.ca/volvo960/hc14813.pdf
Good luck

Thanks, Zip, that is just the kind of info I was hoping for! That should get me started nicely and I would think probably lead me to the cause of the failure easily! The first thing I had checked was the main vacuum diaphram and that wasn't it, looked around a bit and figured I would need a great deal more detailed info to even get started. Thanks again, Zip!
