Default cruise control not working

my cruise control was working temperamentally when i purchased my manual '96 850 R a few weeks ago now it doesn't seem to work at all. any fix?

The cruise motor is located under the battery tray. Follow the vaccum line from it to the engine and look for leaks. Alot of times it will get a hole in it under the battery tray.

If that is all good look at the brake switch under the dash with a hose going to it and make sure the switch is adjusted properly. It needs to be touching the brake pedal when the brakes are off.

thanks tech i'll check it out when i get a chance during the week and let you know how it goes. depending on what is wrong with it is it generally an expensive repair job?

If it is the plastic hose. Then you can just get a peice of rubber hose and slide it on over the plastic hose.

If it is not that then it shouldn't be that expensive either.
