AC cuts out with acceleration
My '96 960's air conditioning cuts back (out?) when I step on the gas to accelerate up a hill or to pass. As soon as I back-off the throttle, it goes back to normal and otherwise works great.
I'm guessing this is a vacuum problem. However, there are very few vacuum hoses under the hood, and they all look fine.
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance.

While this is a very common problem, the cause is usually a hole in the vacuum bellows. But first rule out a vacuum leak, things to check, all rubber elbows under the hood, especially their undersides, the check valves at the firewall, inspect all hoses to the emissions system too.
There are three ways to repair if it ends up being a blown vacuum motor.
Plug the offending vacuum line with a golf tee, but render your floor vents useless. Gets too cold where I live to do that.
Replace the motor, a dealer charges 11 hours of labor, dash removal is required.
Use a short cut method found on the internet, but it will still take several hours and the process is not for the light hearted.
Hope it is just a simple leak.
