Alternator removal

I may need to remove my alternator for replacement/repair. Repair manuals for the 960 are not available in the UK. I have had a quick look at how to remove it, but it seems trapped between the Power steering pump, and what looks like the Air Con compressor. Do one of these have to be removed first ?

There is no info on VIDA and little info in Hayne's
REMOVE BATTERY CABLES FIRST
1. Remove the air cleaner cover
2. remove the coolant hose from thermostat
3. de-tension the belt by using square nut tool in tensioner spring center
4. trap the tensioner pulley in the loose position by inserting nail into matched-up holes
5. Rotate the power steering pump pulley and feel for 3 deep set 12mm bolts through the holes in the pulley face. There are 3 bolts at about 11 o'clock, 7 o'clock and 5 o'clock position. Remove.
6. remove 2 similar bolts from the back of the power steering pump
6b. remove a long bolt from the top of the curved bracket. This bracket curves around the right side of the alternator and secures the small triangular rear bracket *
7. swing the power steering pump out of the way
8. remove three long bolts from alternator: two are somewhat visible and secured with nuts. one of these is accessed through a cutout hole in the front bracket.*[one may be the same bolt in step 6b] A third one is hidden at at about the 5 o'clock position when looking at the alternator from the back. This long bolt is difficult to access and screws into a welded square nut on the front bracket from the rear.
9. Remove a 14mm bolt from front bracket underneath idler pulley.
10 the small triangular rear bracket and the front large bracket that holds the idler pulley should be worked loose and removed now that their retaining bolts have been removed. Note the orientation of the small rear triangular bracket
11. Remove the two electrical connections at the rear of the alternator; one is held on by a nut, the other a spade connector pulls off. The alternator should be free to lift out.
[I can't remember if the 14mm bolt connects to the alternator itself or just the bracket]
