I was reading another thread and it said that if a 960 has a snow flake by the outside temp gauge that it has a automatic locking differential.. My 96 does and the little snowflake lights up when it gets down to close 36 degees. So am I led to believe that when the light comes on this car's differential locks up or is somehow actuated.. I've owned this thing since 2007 and had no idea it had a locking differential.. ( I figured it was stuck to the ground so well because it is producing it own gravitational feild.)
Can someone comfirm this?

The 960 has a mechanical limited slip differential. It is always active should the rear wheels spin at different speeds the clutch inside will grab and divert power to the other wheel up to 50/50 on RWD. You probably will just notice more in wet/snowy weather because it's not really powerful enough to get the wheels spinning on dry asphalt.
