As long as they are all close to the same it should still run pretty good.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. After driving the car a little, and letting it idle, and revving it some, the plugs went from a nice tan to a real black, over rich look. But the more you run it cold, the better they start looking. So that is making me think it is the O2s.
Because when it is cold it runs pretty good, (open loop), and then once it heats up and goes closed loop it starts running bad.

Does this sound logical to you?

Alright man I've got a bigger problem now. The hose for the compression tester is now stuck in the spark plug hole. It will turn a bit, but will not come out. Have you any tips for this? Really frustrating. I'm about to part the car out.

Thanks.

WOW that sucks. Spray and let it soak with WD-40. Then if you can use a wrench or something to try to walk it out.

Thanks man, we actually were soaking it with WD and it finally came out! The reason it got stck was because the bottom part of the hose that goes into the hole had a crack in the threads so the hose separated from the connector. Again, thanks for your help thus far.

Here's a pic of the crack for S&G's

Sorry to bring this back, but I guess I'll just add something ever now and then regarding my "oldie." So I was out driving it today for old time's sake and it... dies. Turns over and over but nothing. I get it towed home. What happens when I just try to start it for kicks and giggles? Fires right up. Now let me back up a bit. After I became stranded, I put three gallons of gas in it since I know my fuel gauge is not accurate. Even after that it doesn't start. But I get home (about 2 hours later) and then it does start.

Could this have something to do with my O2 sensor? Being that it died when hot but starts when cold?

Oh, and another thing to add. After it died and I tried to start again, it would fire up a couple times, but idle at like maybe 200 max then die. Just barely chugging and even made that "knocking" sound like whan a car runs out of gas in a movie.

Sounds like maybe a bad fuel pump.

Well that's what I figured. It was sure growling every time I tried to start it back up after it died.

Need another Volvo?
