Can't clear check engine light
I can't clear the check engine light.
traction control won't disengage. But considering the car's been sitting for 3 years I'm not surprised any thoughts please thank you. It's a 96 body and the engine is junkyard. I'm thinking it's a corrosion on the switches from setting for the past few years. |
CEL should clear by disconnecting the battery for 1 minute unless there is a major malfunction which triggers it immediately after the reset.

traction control won't disengage. To clear the check engine light connect a compatible scan tool to the obd port between the seats - read the codes then erase them. Drive and see which ones come back. "Traction control won't disengage" - can you explain that a little further? Do you have a warning light on the dash? Are you referring to the transmission winter mode? |
Got the traction system to disengage turns out it wasn't plugged into the fuse box.
check engine light still on computer still not reading? |
