Default Can't clear check engine light

I can't clear the check engine light.
traction control won't disengage.
But considering the car's been sitting for 3 years I'm not surprised any thoughts please thank you.
It's a 96 body and the engine is junkyard.
I'm thinking it's a corrosion on the switches from setting for the past few years.

CEL should clear by disconnecting the battery for 1 minute unless there is a major malfunction which triggers it immediately after the reset.

What year and model car? sorry looking thru your posts you have been asking about a 96 960 you put a 95 engine in.

To clear the check engine light connect a compatible scan tool to the obd port between the seats - read the codes then erase them. Drive and see which ones come back.

"Traction control won't disengage" - can you explain that a little further? Do you have a warning light on the dash? Are you referring to the transmission winter mode?

Do you have one of these ports near your left strut tower under the hood? If so that's where you read /erase codes and you have a 1995 or earlier car.
