Default Can't ID my 95 960 coil modules

Anyone have a picture or illustration or description? Where are they located? Trying to narrow down my #5 coil intermittent firing problem. I just spliced in a new replacement harness. The old harness had deteriorated so badly underneath the cylinder head cover.

BTW, oil puddles in that area. Wondering if that was because the oil filler cap might need an o ring insulator.

The coil packs are on top of the plugs, hefty black things, each plug has its own...

I wasn't clear when I asked the question. My fault. I was referring to the distribution power modules that the coils are wired to for their trigger signal. I have since located them. They are on the intake manifold down pipe, front one and rear one. Thanks for your response.

Southpaw, can you tell me more about the replacement harness and where you got it?

The rubbers in my coil connectors are rotten and I am worried about the chance that contacts will back out away from their mating terminals on the coil.

Real nice harness. Try this link.

Dave's Volvo Engine Wire Harness Page - 960 and S90

Nice seller to deal with. Harness is top quality. Cost $150.00 and complete with connectors, shrink tubing, factory quality and thorough installation instructions.

I did the same to my 960, but you might want to check the wires underneath the intake manifold and replace any rotten wire loom. I had a couple of spots that fell off and some wires that were worn through and if I hit a bump it would short out, throw a code and start stalling. Check the front of your fuel rail too for a minute leak if you smell raw gas in the cabin or engine compartment.
