omg. what a nightmare. Long story short, the gasket replacement wasn't too bad. Started sat morning and finished torquing the valve cover down WITHout the pull down tool by about midnight, 1 am. I had a steady stream of coolant leaking out the rear. That segment is barely a few mm thick from the jacket to the outer portion. Everything got buttoned up by about 2-3pm Sunday but I discovered really quick that I had some wiring issues due to moving things around during the gasket replacement. Everything ran rather well prior to, so I scratched my head till about Monday morning. The old wiring had gotten so dried that wires got cracked and exposed in the ignition harness and grounded out while I tried cranking Sunday afternoon which fried my number one coil. I rewired the entire top portion. The wiring going down the backside was pretty pliable. Should have some coils waiting for me when I get home today. 1996 Volvo 960
