Just looked at a nice 97 960
Hi all
New member here after just acquiring a 98 V70 GLT ABOUT 9 months ago, now looking for a backup car and came across a real nice blue w/ grey leather 97 960 with 146000 on it.
Going to have my mechanic go over it tomorrow (I hope). Only thing she couldn’t tell me was when timing belt was last replaced. Car did have an extensive Carfax history but couldn’t find timing belt . Wants $3200. Would love to hear some feedback. Love my V70 and this one drove real nice too but couldn’t take on highway.

Hi Dave, I've a 97 960 that I've had for about a year now with 210,000 miles. I love this car! Fortunately for me, there was a sticker on the belt housing with the date of the last belt change. Since I was giving it a complete tuning, I changed it anyway. I always want to know the status of every nut and bolt and not taking it for granted that the last guy/girl made things right. I've pretty much refurbished the entire engine bay except for the block and heads as it gives a robust and compatible combusion on all cylinders. Replaced all pipes, brake system, and front suspension. The platform is solid and smooth and it runs like a top. With the spring coming, I'll put some time into the aestetics. I expect many more quality miles from this gem. Hope you are fortunate to have found another of these wonderful cars to serve you as well.
