PnP switch replacement
Hello-
Looking for someone who has done this on a 960, to see if it is something I can reasonably do myself. What is involved (basic step by step)- does tranny need to drop, fluid drained, etc?
I am a pretty competent wrench guy with experience, but I do not have a lift or the greatest space to work in. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks-
Brady

I know the instructions on the brickboard work well, but would add, that since the dealer uses a special alignment tool, that will require a work around.
This will require a assistant, also the car will have to be in reverse with the front wheels off the ground, so sturdy jack stands are required.
Replacement is straight forward, but there might be need to tweak the position of the switch to function correctly. If that tweaking is needed, this is how I have done it without the special alignment tool.
Ignition on, engine off, place gear selector in reverse, loosen adjustment bolt and rotate switch to when the reverse lights go on, then go the other way with the rotation to when the lights go off again, now you know the limits of the reverse lights, then try to find the middle position.
You might want to test drive it to be sure, but with the above it gets you in the ball park.
