power windows
Me too- ('97 960) I tried WD40 around the rubber seal (inside and outside) but I guess the sound is coming from the internal levers in the door panels that expand and contract to raise and lower the window... Anyway, I hope I'm not continuing to damage anything inside. Has anyone run into this problem? Thanks...
You need to take the door panels off and lube the the regulators inside the door and all pivot points. Sounds like they are dry and need some maintenance or they will break eventually and are pricey... It's a simple job.
When i had a 93 960 the clutch had burned up in the power window so the window would make a horrid noise when it got to the top or bottom of it's run. It ended up burning off the top few teeth and i replace the motor and gear assembly with 1 from a junk yard which wasn't that hard.
