Purchase a '97 960 - Questions

I have a '98 S70. I've been trying to help a friend find a good reliable second car and happened upon a '97 960 with around 100,000 miles on it. It's in really nice shape, dealer maintained. I have a few questions and was hoping some of you 960 experts might be able to provide some insight:
1) We live in Michigan and I noticed that the 960 is a rear-wheel drive car. How does it handle in the snow?
2) Are there any major known issue I should be aware of before recommending the car to my friend?
Thanks for any helpful information you can provide!

Hi, I own a 96 960 and I can say it really doesn't handle fantasticly in the snow, but there is still hope-> if you do crash, you will be VERY well protected^^. The major problem I had this past winter was that my back end would throw out rediculously. But then again, I was an idiot and didn't put the can into winter mode over half the time.
I would have to say the 960 isn't a very nice winter car.
