Default T-Belt Question

I just had the T-belt, tensioner, pulleys and water pump changed on my 960 about 9,000kms early... peice of mind was well worth the $600 bill after reading about all these bent & broken valve horror stories. My 88 760Turbo; the sticker on the timing case says she is due at 156,000kms; right now we are at 155&change. If the belt breaks on a b230f engine is it the same senario as my 24valve 960? Or will i just be stranded at worst? The engine is coming out in the spring for a rebuild so Id rather stretch it out and push the envolope. This will be my first Volvo engine rebuild and Im very excited! The previous owner drove it with sludge oil for a few years from what I understand; and he threw on a new turbo at 150000kms so I fully justify a rebuild, especially with a new AC, PS pump and starter
Also any good links/info on rebuilds on these engines... im having trouble finding information and specs

I dont think the valves will get damaged like a Twin CAM.
So you should be safe"r" witht the single cam. Just dont go revving the motor like crazy!

As for the rebuild...Hve fun with it. My car has 256,000 miles and still running storng.
The only time we open the motor was to fix a BHG. just make sure you torque everything down and you should be fine!

Oh yeah..It would be cool if you started a thread for the rebuild. that way we can Leave you some verbal abuse

Good luck.
