This is on a 1997 v90. The top line came off ok. The bottom line was trouble. I had to turn the large "nut" on the radiator. The small "nut" on the metal line is jammed on the line and will not spin. I would hate to have to replace this line. Any suggestions how to free it?

 

This "nut" spins freely on the line. The other does not.

 

PB blaster, let it sit, then thread it back into the radiator some and with an oversized wrench or cresent give it some elbow grease. Use a cheater bar on the end if necessary.

 

Tried pb blaster. When I try to turn the jam nut the line starts to bend and torque. Notice the paint flaking off. That is because the line is torquing and will kink or crack with too much force. I think I may just have to replace the line, but that sucker is over $100.

 

I'd try to find a used line at a local pick-your-part if you can. If not, I know some forum members frequent their local yard and have offered in the past to get parts for other people and ship them for only the cost of the part and shipping.

 

As with ALL heavily stuck parts, use heat, like an acetylene torch, carefully of course! At least this is an easily accessible spot. If that doesn't do it, you need to replace it.

 

I heated it yesterday with a heat gun and freed it. Seems like paint on the line that chipped on installation was binding it. The more I work it around the more pieces work themselves out. Not sure if that's exactly it, but heat worked nonetheless.
