Default Turn Signal Issue

Have a 96 960 with 148K on the odometer. Recently, the turn signals have stopped blinking, the bulbs do light up. Prior to complete stoppage, the turn signals flashed at a fast rate. Occasionally, the turn signals will blink but generally light up only. Out of curiousity, I tried to turn on the hazard flasher lights, these also do not blink.

Thoughts?

You've got a flasher failure. Pull out the ash tray and the flasher is with the relays, behind the fuses. It's the third item in the second row. If you have a solder iron, resoldering the tabs on the circuit board may be all that is necessary.

Beside the flasher being suspect, you might also verify that all four bulbs are functioning correctly, sometimes the sockets get melted and it might be shorting it out to the parking light system.

Pull each bulb, inspect the socket and the contact end of each bulb.
