Volvo 960 95' - Alarm Issue
Hi everyone. I got a mind boggling problem...here goes:
1. One day my car alarm (Laser Line Remote T101v3 green LED and alarm model Laser Line 904 (says SL0904B on it)) started ringing after 5 minutes, right after I locked the car. Only disarming and re-arming the alarm stopped the noise, but right after that the car made 3 beeps (3 light flashing + 3 alarm beeps) and after 5 minutes the alarm went off again. No matter what I tried this kept happening.
2. There was no way I could fix it because I did not have the wiring diagram (nor the knowledge). So I went to my car mechanic and the only thing he could think as a fix for the moment, was to remove a fuse situated right under the steering wheel (not from the fuse box). After that the car wouldn't make that noise after 5 minutes but this happened:
- arming/disarming from the remote control was not possible any more, I had to lock/unlock the car using the ignition key;
- every time I wanted to start the car, the alarm would start; in order to start the engine I had to press the arm button from the remote so that a green led would light on the left of the dashboard (when the alarm was functional, this green led would automatically light when I started the car, no additional button had to be pushed from the remote).
3. This summer things went from bad to worse: the car didn't start anymore because right after I inserted and turned the key, the alarm wouldn't start; I pressed the arm button, but the green led wouldn't light no matter what.
I said to myself: it must be caused by the heat of the engine, the alarm being situated very near it, and, so I thought, some diodes or something must have fried in there . After that, there where days when the car would start (the alarm would start thus enabling me to press the arm button, thus the green led would light and I was able to start the engine).
But sometimes, even after 2-3 cold nights (10 degrees Celsius/50 degrees Fahrenheit), after the car had remained stationary, it still wouldn't start.
I've been running with that fuse removed ever since, because if I try to put it back, the alarm goes off after 5 minutes.
Oh and...my car is evil, it starts just fine, I go at the gas station, fill her up, and have other 3 cars behind me waiting for me to leave, and that's when she likes not to start anymore...the alarm doesn't start and so on...
So...what's the problem? Can anyone help please?

Maybe you can go to another site that supports that alarm system and find help there. Other than that I would remove the thing and use the one that comes with the car. I have heard of areas where people need 2 and 3 alarms. That must be horrible. If they want the car that bad they will get it. I would probably install an in-line fuel pump switch and put it on the dash with the other switches where it would not be noticed.
