Volvo 960 1992
2.9L B6304G
Motronic 1.8 - 0 261 200 516
I am having a problem with the injector driver inside my ECU. It is impossible for me to find the same ECU which the car has. My question is if it is possible to replace the ECU with another one?

I found an ECU of a Volvo 960 1993 B6304F (0 261 200 517), but I am not sure if this one will fit my car, any ideas?

I'm not much help, but if you already have problems driving the car, another ECU shouldn't be any worse.
I would think that the key is to keep it to a similar driveline.

Since I seem to recall that all the 960s and S/V90's came with the B6304 engines and AW30-40 transmissions (in the US), if you got an ECU out of the same type of vehicle, you should be ok.

As an aside, I wonder if a different year ECU (different software version) would change anything - the early 960's had a more aggressive cam and made 204hp and later they were traded for 'nicer' cams with more low-end torque. I don't know if the programming changed.

Anyway, I don't *know* this, I'm just thinking out loud so to speak.

 

DId u figure out your problem yet?My 95 960 fuel injectors wont fire also the fuel pump works.
