Volvo 960 Turn Signal Issues
I wouldn't suspect that many people have had an issue with their turn signal fuse blowing out every so often with no specific timing or action. However, I am down to the last option with my 97' 960. My problem is this:
Turn signal functioning as it should. After about 50 miles of driving or so, turn signal fuse blows out. I replaced the turn signal stalk thinking it was possibly defective, however, I experienced no change.
If anyone has any idea what might be causing this to happen, I'd appreciate any comments, thanks!

Check the wiring for your turn signals, something is causing that fuse to repeatedly blow out.

SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION TO TURNING SIGNAL FUSE (17) BLOWING OUT CONSTANTLY
After hours of painful searching, I finally found the issue that was causing fuse #17 (Turning Signals) to blow. If you have/had this problem and have tried everything you have heard of, then keep reading! I tried the following before finding the problem.
ISSUE: Fuse #17 blows out. First few times, it would last a little while, but eventually blow. Mine got to the point where either left or right turning signal, as well as the hazard flasher, were all blowing the fuse almost immediately.
DIAGNOSTICS: Start simple. If available to you, try first checking/swapping/replacing front and rear turning signal bulbs. In the front, try using different bulb sockets (I've seen these contact internally). Check easy to see wiring in front and back to verify that all connections are contacting properly, and are free of corrosion. Many times replacing your hazard flasher switch will work, and other times, you may need a new turn signal stalk. Are you like me and tried all of these things?
CHECK THIS OUT: Take the black insert out of your dash on the drivers side to gain access to your dash cluster. Once you have your dash cluster pulled forward, identify this connector. It will be the first one on the left looking straight at it from the front. Pull it out and look for this green wire.
That may not look like much, but trust me, it was an issue. It was perfectly seated behind the dash to rub against the metal brace for the steering column. Use some electrical tape and tape it up real good. I also taped the orange wire in the picture as it looked like it could also cause some near future issues!
I hope this helps anybody who has or will have this problem! Happy Volvo owning!
