Default What is this?

I just picked up this 97 960. What is this item? It looks like a T connector in the middle of a hose that is missing whatever should be on the end. Based on the color, it seems like it is copper that has been oxidized. The hose goes down towards the oil filter.

THANKS!

Can someone take a picture of this location of their 960 here so I can compare what it looks like?

Looks like the engine coolant drain valve.

I climbed under, and I have never seen a vehicle with this. Wouldn't a coolant drain valve be in the radiator? Do you have a pic of yours?

So, this is located in the middle of the oil cooling line. It looks like it is sealed on the inside. It looks it is attached to part#8.

I will take a picture of mine tomorrow and post it. Clean it off. It should be a brass fitting. Open it with (I think) a 12mm wrench and you should have coolant released.
