I have a 1995 volvo 960. I had the spark plugs, oil and oil filter changed last Sunday (a friend did it). Seemed to run fine until Thursday am I went out to start it. Started fine but only ran for about a minute or two and died. Would not restart. It will start everytime it sits for a while however it will not stay started. Replaced fuel filter and air filter. Same problem. Only means of transportation! Any suggestions??

Do you have a CEL? If so, you need to have those codes pulled. There is a OBD-I port under the hood.

Also, do you hear the fuel pump running? Did you try to start and run it with the MAF unplugged?

 

same thing happened to me, out of nowhere my s80 would not start, however in my case it was the computer, after checking fuel pressure spark plugs, etc. it was the computer, I hope this help.
