Default 1994 850 Door Molding???

Has anyone else had any trouble with the door molding/trim on the outside of their 850s? I have had to replace them once already because they get warped/bent and knock of the others...all on the drivers side. I am about to go to the junkyard and look for my 3rd set of moldings, but I was wondering if there was anything that could be done about this or if there were any suggestions as to making this look halfway decent on a budget, rather than having to go through this what seems to be every 2 years...Frustration!!!

I wonder if the constant temperature where you are is doing that? When I worked for HONDA, we had a lady who had the same issue. The only thing we could think of was that she parked her car in FULL sun in a blacktop parking lot and then would go thru a car wash. We figured that going from extreme hot to a cold water would just warp the plastic. Like a hot skillet and then putting it under cold water right off the burner. Over time that skillet would have high and low points on the flat surface. But you live up there. I'm sure it doesn't get that hot. We warrantied that ladys door trim.

Do they just pop off all the sudden? Can you install new clips once in a while to avoid this?

They pop off but at the same time the metal is bent, so there is really no going back. The front door when I open it the trim goes outside the body rather than inside...if that makes sense.

Can you bend them back in shape? Is someone banging on them? Someone kicking on the doors to close them or something? This does not make sense to me???

My door moldings/trim wont stay in one place. They slide forward and backward. Yesterday one fell off. Is putting it back on as simple as buying new clips from Volvo? The previous owner put a screw through one trim to hold it in place. But I don't think he drilled a hole first, so the trim sticks out a bit. :-/

The trim have a small screw in the trailing edge of the inside of the door that stops them from sliding back and forth. That is actually how you remove the trim, pull that little screw and slide the trim back a little and it falls off. The screw is behind a small circule dust cap.

Thanks for that info rspi. I am missing one gray clip for the molding that fell off, but I was able to pop the one that came out (that I found) back into place and made sure the others were in the groove good. I slid the molding into place and it's actually holding a lot better than it was before. I haven't put a screw in it yet, but I will eventually...

Thanks for the help.
