Default 1995 Volvo 850 t5

Hi I bought a 95 850 t5 non runner with no oil pressure. I replaced the oil pump and cleaned the oil trap.Started her and it was belching smoke. Cleaned PCV system, intercooler, removed and replaced inlet manifold, had turbo recond, replaced fuel pump and filter, new HT leads and sparkplugs, new battery, cleaned IAC sprayed all sensors with cleaner in other words tried everything! Car idles but then dies, misfires now and again, turbo not working, still smoking! ECM fault codes are 132,552,555.444,241,315,112,131,314,411,123,225,12 5,145,223,416
Car does not have a Cat convertor or EGR and I may have damaged the O2 sensor
Can anyone help me to get this baby running properly please as I am ready to put a match to it ???

Welcome to the forum Neil

Do you know if you have an OBDII port next to the shifter ?? Might be able to get an OBDII code reader loaner from an auto parts store or maybe a friend has one and read and reset. Then see what comes back on after it's been reset.

Here is a link where you can find out and post what the codes stand for with the underhood diagnostic panel (OBDI) - > http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/read-codes-volvo-850

Hi Thanks for your help All the codes show problems with sensors Could they all be caused by 1 electrical fault somewhere? I will get the ECM read again

First of all, it is quite possible that the ECU is not fully or properly connected. Open the hood, and at the front right side of the car is a square black plastic box. Remove the lid and you will see two silver modules. One is the ECU, the other is the TCM (transmission control module). Remove them one at a time (by pulling up on the silver handle on the top of the module) and then re-seat/re-install them. Then get an OBD-II code reader and plug it in and clear the codes. The OBD port is in front of the shift **** under the plastic coin tray.

Once the codes are cleared, start the car and see what happens. If codes come back post them here and we will sort them out.

Big question, how was is determined that the car had no oil pressure, and how do you know it is fixed now. Have you tapped in a pressure gauge to see if it is developing oil pressure? If the car starts and runs even for a little bit with no oil pressure that is a BIG problem with expensive consequences.

Hi oil pressure is fine now car is in every day use When engine is switched off ( even for 5 mins) and restarted it won't idle runs rough after 5 mins it idles. But iac is unplugged! If I plug it in car stalls after 2 mins. IAC is clean and appears to be working.Turbo is also not kicking in.Could problems be caused by tps?

I had a similar problem and it turned out that the intake manifold gasket had torn. I saw in your earlier post you removed the intake manifold. Did you use a new gasket? Also make sure the bolts are torqued down tightly. Any vacuum leak there will cause rough running.

Could also have a MAF issue.

Good point....try disconnecting the MAF temporarily and see if it runs better or not. It will throw a code but that can be cleared.
