2 "what is it" questions
First one is: does anyone know anything about Yellow fuel injectors. I found info for orange, and white..... but not yellow.
Second question is: With the intake off the car, looking down the 5 ports, the lower half of each port has something I would describe as a flap. These flaps appear to be vacuum operated. What are these? How often do they cause problems?
Thanks for any info,
Cranky

Sorry guys, I've never been good at properly wording what I wanted to say.... I am trying
Ok, let me try to further explain those "flaps".
When looking into the 5 ports of the intake manifold - just inside the port opening, where the intake is bolted to the head, each manifold port appears to have an upper half, and a lower half. With the flaps closed, it seems that the air flow would be forced through the upper half of the port opening and across the fuel injector nozzles.
Thanks again.

I will try to post a picture. I saw this intake at a salvage yard. The car was a 93 850. I plan to go back there today or tomorrow, so it may be a day or two before I can post a pic.
Thanks again.

In this picture I am holding the intake upside down, and using the vac solenoid to move the "flap" I am asking about. The line across the center of each port is part of the intake and doesn't move.
I have a Chiltons book on this car, and it doesn't show this, or mention it .

If it helps at all, this "flap" seems to be spring loaded in the open position, so it make sense that it would be closing at high vacuum, forcing the air past the fuel injector at a higher speed. The "flaps" are not metal, in fact I do not know what they are. They feel like high density cardboard - but considering the location, we know that is not what it is.
I know my original question sounded kind of crazy, but I assumed everyone knew about this thing. I have some experience turning wrenches, but mostly on GM stuff.
I would think that these flaps in the intake ports could be a good source of lower rpm power, or a power robbing piece of crap - depnding on how and when they operate.
Thanks, Cranky
