200,000 service for '97 850
Recently I took my '97 850 to my dealer for a 200,000 mile service.
much to my surprise, they changed the oil and filter and gave it back to me saying that it did not need anything else. I suspect the dealer's shop was in a jam on scheduling and skipped a lot of things they should have addressed like:
-air and gas filter ?
-belts and pulleys ?
-transmission flush ?
-coolant ?
-plugs and wires ?
Finally per my complaint that the AC was not working, they said I needed a new 'AC Evaporator' and it was a $1,400 part....I looked it up online and it's $150....
Comments ?

The evaps leak on these cars all the time. If you have gotten 200K out of it then you are really one of the lucky ones.
The original ones usually lasted only about 50K to 70K.
It is not part of the 200K service. It was a very common failure on the 850's.
