Default 3 inch pipe Downpipe from IPD

Is it ok to install the 3 inch downpipe with the stock cat? I am thinking the OEM cat back is 2.5 inches. I would like to have the power without sound of the race car.

Is there a 3 inch cat back that does not sound like a race car available in the market?

The stock cat-back would be fine. I ran my S60R with the stock Cat-back and the OBX DP and it was great.

If you do want a cat-back, I would get the OBX 3 inch cat-back. I have heard very good things about it and if you search volvospeed, you will see what I mean.

Why would you wanna use the stock cat? Do you not realize how restrictive that choker is?

And no the OEM cat-back is not 2.5 its 2 1/4.

OBX doesnt make a 3" cat-back for VOLVO's.They make a 3" dp & mid-pipe to 2 1/2 from the mid-pipe back.Thats whats on my car.

Found this link for OBX. Wonder why such a price difference between IPD and OBX. Where is the catalytic converter in the OBX system?

It's simple. The name. IPD is a brand name with sticking power. Good customer service to boot. While their prices are outragreous, you get what you pay for. While the OBX might be a quality product it is on the lower end of the Volvo aftermarket.
