Default 850 GLT issues

I purchased a 1996 850 GLT wagon yesterday. The ABS, TRACS and Check engine lights are all on. The AC also does not work. Where do I start? I would like to repair them if at all possible to do on my own and not terribly pricey. Also, in reading in the 850 forum there is much about codes. Is this something a dealer needs to check and give to me or can I do this?

Thanks

If you have an Advanced Auto parts store or an Auto Zone near you they can pull codes.
The ABS is most likely the ABS module.
The A/C might be out of freon.Which you can charge your self.

Wow! Thanks for the quick response!

Where is the ABS module located? Also, I am very near Strandberg's Auto which is a large salvage yard that specializes in Volvo parts. Would you caution against a used module? I assume they can be tested? And will this possibly take care of the TRACS light? This is on regardless of the position of the dash switch.

The ABS module it located under the master cylinder. There is 2 plugs plugged into it.It looks like a black box.You will need a inverted torxes 5 or 6 to remove the screw holding it to the pump assembly.
You can try buying one used but that one may go bad very soon.If you can get it pretty cheap I would say go for it.

The abs and the tracs are in the same module.Make sure you tell them you have ABS with Tracs. You will need the module with ttracs.

Are there also ABS/TRACS sensors at each wheel that I should check or is it less likely that these are the problem?

Thanks!
