850 R Brake Vibration
The vibration that feels like running over rumble strips did not happen at all this morning comming to work. I did have some squeaking though and a little bit of the grinding sound when I step on the brakes at high speed. But none of that very low speed soft touch on the brakes vibration.

I just called the dealer and they only have one set of stainless steel shims at $1.73 each. He did not know if they were half or full and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about when I said I wanted half shims. You are right about really turning the rotors and the guy I bought it from said only have them turned very little. I have nothing to lose by doing it. If it makes it worse he will send me new ones. As long as it's worse within 30 days.

Tech you don't happen to know a part number for the shims do you? I looked at the new set of pads I have and there are not shims in the set, either front or back. I will buy the shims for the rear at lunch today. I'm going to take your advise and just do the shims first and not turn the rotors unless the problem persists. Thr front pads look to be about 30% so I'm changing them too. They might be the ones squeeling.

Yes it does it when it's hot, but not all the time. I got the rotors off and the pads looked like they needed replaced. The pads I got do have what looks like rubbery shims attached to the back of them.
I should peel these off and put the half shims on instead?
I'm thinking about just buying new rotors rather than waiting for new ones and I don't like the idea of turning them. I don't think they are Vovlo rotors, but I can't tell for sure. They don't say Vovlo on them I know that. If I want to wait I can get several kinds of rotors fairly cheap, but I want to get it done before the weekend. Somebody told me the NAPA better grade rotors are good. They sell for $67.49 each. I can also get Raybestos at Pep Boys for 60.57. Both places have some cheap ones in the $25 range, but I'm staying away from them. I can get Brembo over the internet for $32.20 each, but I would have to wait for 3-5 days.
