Default 850 R Springs question

So i just bought a set of front struts/springs off an 850 R. Hoping to lower my 850 AWD a little bit in the front. How much drop should i expect, and would it be worth to cut them or are they "valuable"?

thanks

Maybe just barely noticeable. It's going to be a very small drop. And yeah, you can cut them, they're not really desired at all.

I thought the exact opposite. R springs are lower than regular 850 springs no? And since the 850 awd is higher that'll be an even bigger drop.

What do you mean the exact opposite? I didn't say R springs are higher than 850 springs, you will maybe get a drop, although it's not going to be any where near what a true lowering spring will give you. Your wagon doesn't look like it sits that much higher than a stock 850, and with how sagged your back is, your front may drop a bit and your back will probably go up.

Yeah, take before and after pictures. You'll get a slight drop, just don't expect any wheel tuck or anything is what I'm saying.

I wouldn't go that far. Most lowering springs are around 1.2-1.5, IPDs being the lowest at close to 1.75. And lowering springs are a big upgrade over R springs. You're actually the first person I've seen buy R springs to replace stock springs to lower the car.

my friend told me to try them, if i like them then i can pay.
I bought just the front, i dont know i read this:
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothr...=133730&page=1

ya, so if aftermarket springs give 1" of lowering from stock, then R springs should lower from stock too.

Aftermarket gives slightly more than 1". And I never said that you weren't going to get a drop, but it's not going to be any where near what lowering springs will give you.

That R has pretty much the exact same stance as my Turbo.

yours has a nice stance in the front, look at mine, its retarded high, so even if i get like yours it'll be better. For the 60$ i paid (not paid yet) for shocks and struts..
and i dont want to cut my originals, so if i have to it wont hurt me to cut these ones.
you have 15, 16, or 17" rims?

16s, I have 17s that will be going on at the end of the month. Yours probably sits a little extra high in the front too because your back sits so low.

wow, she's got a really nice stance now. I was reading on that sweedspeed forum that there are some sorta rear camber bushings or something that they don't make at all?? mine sags a little with neg. camber on the driver's side.
is that related to this irreplacable bushing?

quite possbile that there is if your FWD, since the AWD system is completly different i wouldent know. I know whats cauing my sag back there.. Nivomat to shock conversion without new stiffer springs..
