I am new to this forum and have seen a lot of knowledgeable and good information for maintenance and mild customization on all Volvos.


I have a 96 850 GLT wagon and am going to replace my front struts due to a bad upper strut bearing. I have lowered springs on and want to go further. I am in need of shorter struts. Reason being I want to put a UAS bag over kit on the car and lay the body on the ground, or at least get about 1 inch from it. The original struts do not allow the car to go down as far as I would like. I know this is not a common thing, but I want to do something nit that common. Not looking to spend a boat load of money; ie coilovers. No one in my area can give me any info on shorter struts for 850's.


Thanks in advance for all answers for my question. This car is used every now an then, so not concerned with ride quality or functionality as an everyday driver.
