Hi, I just purchased a 1994850 and am having a problem with the ssunshade.

The shade will not go back when the roof is closed or in the vent position.

I am guessing it should open manually.....right?

When the roof opens it goes back just fine.

Does anyone have a suggestion or can tell me how to fix it?

The dealed I bought it from is a non Volvo dealer and said they would have their mechanic look at it, but if it is something I can do I would rathger fix it myself rather than risk a leak if the dealer doesn' know what they are doing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm a bit confused.

Roof Closed = __
Vent = _/

And in roof closed, it won't open.
And in vent, it won't go to closed (?).

But in the next part of your statement, you say it can open? I'm not sure I understand your problem/question...

 

Sorry for the confusion.

The sunroof is working fine.

I can't slide the sun shade back by handwhen the sunroof is closed.

However, when the sunroof opens the sun shade opens with it.

It seems like it is getting caught on something

The clips for the sunshade can break or come loose.

You may need to remove the sunroof glass and check the clips.

If you put the roof in the tilt position and look under the glass you may be able to see the problem.
