850 t5 cone air filter best place to put it for most efficiency
just wondering what people think is the best place to put the cone filter on a 850 t5 i was thinking either put it near the front grill where the standard cold air feed runs in, or route it down to near the bottom of the bumper. any suggestions?

are you talking about something like this?

sorry url is long. Or do you have one from IPD or similar to that? A more detailed description of the one you have would help anyone answer your question better.
I have seen them mounted like the one in the picture some with a shield. Or with the battery relocated to the trunk and installed in the fender.
Remember the stock setup has the pipe that feeds the air over the radiator to the airbox.

i have a standard cone air filter on the the maf. i took it out for a drive through town when i stopped the air filter was hot to touch, i took it on a run and the air filter was cold to touch but the inlet manifold was hot. before this i had the pipercross panel filter in the stock box, the inlet manifold was normally always quite cold to touch after a run at about 50 mph even the cam cover on the intake side used to be only warm. i have only had the cone filter on two days i can't feel a difference in driving performance though
