Default 850 T5 recent breakdown

Hi guys,

Yesterday I was driving my Volvo 850 T5 and I experienced a momentary lag in power, then another one and finally within the space of 10 seconds the engine cut off. When trying to restart the car I would get a rough idle and the engine would cut off again.

Not great with cars so I’ve not got a great idea of what could be happening, possible air leak?

Any tips would be appreciated.
Cheers
Drew

I wouldn't be surprised if the boost tube got torn or disconnected - check it from the turbo, over the top and to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the intake.

Hello there !

mt6127 is correct and id go with his hunch !

Make sure all your in take/ charged air pipes are connected and not damaged or ripped

If the MAF is not showing flow of air or is way off it will cause the engine to stall and wont idle.

The ECU is very very dependant on the MAF in these cars.
