i just got a 1996 volvo 850 turbo. I was wondering if anyone has a boos controller and has been upping their boost via the controller rather than dishin out the cash for the 500-600 dollar ecu for the turbo?</P>

i was away for a while, now im a lot more knowledgable about volvo's. Im orderin the JoeP manual boost controller for 30 bucks as part of a group buy.</P>


The thing with the ECU is that the stock computer will not take more than 15psi of boost and when it is around that number it is running lean which is bad for your engine. SpeedTuning USA has a chip for the volvo, 277 hp w/ chip on stock car. Whats better than the initial horsepower number is that it will keep giving you fuel for your increased air so long as your injectors &amp; pump can keep up.</P>


If you get a MBC and are going to run over stock boost you HAVE to get a boost gauge, OMP makes one.</P>
