96' 850 glt with problems
Good day everyone..I purchased a 96' 850 manual trans..It runs good,but the interior lights won't come on,the power door switch doesn't work,the mileage gauge doesn't work{speedometer works} and the engine light came on and won't go off..I tried to replace the fuse for the door switch-diagnostic slot.The fuse breaks everytime I try to replace it. can anyone help me?

When you say the fuse breaks every time you replace it, does it physically break, or are you saying that it blows the fuse (metal strip inside the fuse melts/opens)? If the fuse blows, you have a short somewhere. A good candidate for the light issue is the overhead light console by the rear view mirror. Check the switches on that or disconnect it and see what the fuse does?

power door switch?...you mean the locks or the window?..I would check that first, as in unhook it and replace the fuse, then hook it back up and see if the fuse blows,same as psaboic said about the lights...but if all the lights are out then it is the fuse, so I would start with the part that doesnt work and go backward from there..Rog
