Default 96' 850 P0171 System Too Lean -

Have a CEL on and don't honestly know much about volvos and was hoping you can explain which hose this is. I have one that looks like it's by the intake manifold and it has a good 1" gash in it. Second picture shows a hose(?) by the MAF and looks like it leads somewhere, but I can't find it whatsoever.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Check all of your intake hoses, pipes and clamps - replace, tighten as nessesary. When you have stopped your intake air leaks, your lean condition will disappear . The vacuum line in picture 2 goes to the boost control solenoid located below the distributor. It's about 2 inches long with a wires plug in one end and 3 vacuum lines in the other. It lets the computer control the turbo boost pressure.

I got the intercooler hose taken care of, but the 2nd line in the diagram is kicking me in the butt... where to the boost control solenoid does it go? I see the three vacuum lines that go out, but I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes.

It looks like it goes beneath the distributor caps? I'm really lost right now because I keep getting conflicting answers, is there a chance there's a vacuum line just deep down in the engine that I need to fish for?

yep, some of the vacuum lines are a pain to get at - some go down under the intake manifold to the PCV system and there is (are?) a line to the boost controller which is under some parts over on the #5 cyl side of the engine (as you noted - by the distributor) which may require some minor removals...
